Research Associate, Biophysical Characterization

The Role

Biophysical characterization is essential in biopharmaceutical development to ensure structural integrity, manufacturability, safety, stability, and clinical efficacy of therapeutic biologics like monoclonal antibodies and antibody-drug conjugates.

As a Research Associate at Biophysical Characterization Unit, the main responsibilities will be to independently plan, execute experiments and analyze data related to antibody and other proteins characterization (e.g. non-specific interactions, aggregation, purity, charge profiles).

Key Responsibilities

  • Plan and execute laboratory experiments according to SOPs.

  • Prepare experimental reports, analyse data and draw conclusions autonomously.

Your Profile

The Role

We are looking for a Treasury Analyst to join our Group and support day-to-day cash and payment operations across multiple international entities.

This is a hands-on, operational role with a strong focus on payment execution, business expense platform management, cash monitoring, and banking activities. You will play a key role in ensuring liquidity availability, processing high volumes of payments, and handling urgent business requests in a dynamic environment.

This position is also critical in ensuring business continuity, internal controls, and proper segregation of duties within the Treasury function.

Key Responsibilities

  • Monitor and manage daily cash balances and bank accounts across multiple entities.

  • Execute and control high-volume payments, including suppliers, payroll, taxes, and intercompany transfers.

  • Handle urgent and ad hoc payment requests, ensuring timely execution before cut-offs.

  • Upload and process payments across multiple banking platforms.

  • Investigate and resolve payment rejections and exceptions.

  • Provide proof of payment to internal stakeholders and vendors.

  • Prepare and manage payment batches and manual payments.

  • Perform cash position checks before executing payments and support short-term liquidity planning.

Your Profile

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or Business Administration.

  • Experience working with bank portals/e-banking platforms (highly preferred).

The Role

This role of Field Marketing Specialist contributes to how FairJourney Bio engages with scientific and commercial audiences.

The primary purpose of the role is to support the development and delivery of FairJourney Bio's Field Marketing activities, strengthening customer engagement, commercial growth and brand visibility through integrated marketing initiatives, including scientific conferences, customer events and commercial activations. Key Responsibilities


  • Facilitate the planning and delivery of FairJourney Bio's field marketing activations, including scientific conferences, exhibitions, customer events and commercial initiatives.

  • Coordinate event logistics, promotional materials, booth requirements and activation activities, ensuring alignment with FairJourney Bio's brand standards.

  • Contribute to the management of the annual field marketing activation calendar, contributing to the prioritization of conferences and events based on commercial objectives and expected return on investment.

The Role

The role of Executive Office Lead operates at the center of the organization, this role enables executive effectiveness across commercial strategy, scientific leadership, business development and key stakeholder engagement.

The core of the role is supporting the execution of executive priorities by preparing high quality executive materials, coordinating cross functional activities, monitoring strategic initiatives and ensuring effective follow through of key decisions and commitments. Working closely with the Interim CBO & CSO, this role helps maximise executive effectiveness by providing the structure, coordination and business support required to enable focus on strategic decision making, external engagement and organisational leadership.

Key Responsibilities

  • Prepare executive briefing packs for meetings, including stakeholder background, meeting objectives, relationship history, relevant context and recommended positioning.

  • Produce post meeting summaries capturing key decisions, agreed actions, owners and deadlines, ensuring timely distribution and follow-up.

  • Maintain an overview of strategic relationships, including Board members, investors, customers, partners and other key stakeholders.

  • Convert discussions, draft ideas and meeting outcomes into high quality presentations, reports, executive communications and business documents.

The Role

We are seeking a highly capable and enthusiastic Senior Research Associate (SRA) to join our Discovery & Engineering Unit at our South Cambridgeshire site (DEU III). This will be an onsite and predominantly lab-based role. Working within a project team, you will independently execute antibody discovery experiments for client projects, delivering first class results. You will apply your expertise to troubleshoot technical challenges as they arise and provide training to junior team members. Teamwork is a key skill for this role, as you will be collaborating with colleagues to plan and deliver project work. A positive and solution focused mindset is required to deliver on a wide range of innovative and intellectually challenging projects.

Key Responsibilities

  • Contribute to antibody discovery programs using phage and/or mammalian display and relevant screening assays, ensuring timely delivery and high-quality outcomes.

  • Independently plan and execute high-quality experiments to agreed timelines.

  • Collect, analyse, and interpret scientific data to inform decision-making.

  • Provide training and mentoring to junior colleagues and new hires.

  • Present findings and progress updates to senior management and partners.

Your Profile

  • BSc or MSc in a relevant field (e.g. molecular biology, biochemistry, biomedical sciences).

  • 3+ years of hands-on lab experience in a CRO, biotech, pharmaceutical, or academic research environment, preferably gained within the antibody discovery field, with an understanding of therapeutic antibody formats, structures, and sequences.

  • In-depth understanding and practical research experience of molecular biology and cellular biology techniques, including DNA cloning, PCR and mammalian cell culture.

  • Strong practical experience in aseptic cell culture techniques and the routine culture and maintenance of mammalian cell lines.

  • Hands-on experience with flow cytometry & FACS.

  • Demonstrable experience in in vitro cell-based assays (e.g. reporter, TDCC).

  • Excellent data analysis, interpretation and problem-solving skills.

The Role

The IT Operations Coordinator is responsible for supporting the coordination, monitoring and continuous improvement of IT operations across FairJourney Biologics. This role acts as a key coordination point between infrastructure, software development, service desk teams and external service providers, helping ensure the delivery of stable, secure and efficient IT services.

The successful candidate will support operational governance, performance monitoring, service improvement initiatives and compliance activities while contributing to the ongoing development and maturity of FairJourney Biologics' global IT operations across Portugal, the United Kingdom and the United States.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support the day-to-day coordination of IT operations activities across FairJourney Biologics.

  • Assist in aligning operational activities with IT priorities, projects and business requirements.

  • Act as a coordination point between infrastructure, development, service desk teams and external providers.

  • Support the consistent application of IT operational processes, procedures and best practices

  • Monitor operational performance indicators, service levels and key performance metrics.

  • Prepare operational reports, dashboards and management information for IT leadership.

  • Support continuous service improvement initiatives and operational excellence activities.

  • Assist with the implementation and monitoring of IT security policies, controls and operational procedures.

  • Support IT compliance, audit and risk management activities, including GDPR, ISO and NIS2 related initiatives.

  • Coordinate with internal and external stakeholders on operational, security and compliance matters.

  • Support service transition activities from development into operational environments.

  • Assist in the preparation and maintenance of operational documentation, procedures and standards.

  • Contribute to process optimization, standardization and operational maturity initiatives.

  • Support incident follow-up, problem resolution activities and service improvement actions.

  • Participate in cross-functional IT projects and operational initiatives as required.

Travel Requirements

This role may require occasional travel between company locations, vendors, implementation partners, and industry events, depending on business needs.Your Profile

Your Profile

  • Approximately 2–3 years of experience in IT operations, IT service management, IT coordination or related areas.

  • Understanding of enterprise IT infrastructure, systems, applications and operational environments.

  • Experience supporting operational reporting, service monitoring and performance analysis.

  • Initial exposure to IT security, governance, compliance or risk management activities.

  • Knowledge of IT Service Management concepts and frameworks, such as ITIL.

  • Strong organizational, coordination and stakeholder management skills.

  • Ability to work across multiple teams and manage competing priorities.

  • Strong analytical, problem-solving and continuous improvement mindset.

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

  • Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively within global teams.

  • Fluency in English.

The Role

The Business Developer (Cryo-EM) is responsible for driving commercial growth by identifying and developing new business opportunities, building long-term client relationships, and supporting the expansion of FairJourney Biologics by positioning our Cryo-EM platform as a premier solution for structure-guided drug discovery and antibody engineering. This role will focus on engaging biotechnology and pharmaceutical clients whose research and development programs involve antibody discovery, biologics development, protein structure determination, membrane proteins, and structure-guided drug discovery. The successful candidate will manage the full business development cycle, from opportunity identification through contract negotiation and project initiation, while working closely with internal scientific, operational, and commercial stakeholders to ensure accurate opportunity scoping, compelling proposals, and seamless client handover.

Key Responsibilities

  • Identify and develop new business opportunities in Structural Biology and Cryo-EM services, aligned with the company’s strategic priorities.

  • Manage the full sales cycle, including lead qualification, client engagement, proposal coordination, negotiation, contract closure, and project initiation.

  • Build and maintain strong relationships with biotechnology and pharmaceutical clients, acting as a trusted commercial partner throughout the sales process.

  • Develop and grow a robust commercial pipeline across antibody discovery, biologics development, protein structure determination, membrane proteins, and structure-guided drug discovery.

  • Drive new client acquisition while identifying opportunities to expand existing accounts and strengthen long-term partnerships.

  • Collaborate closely with scientific leadership and cross-functional teams to align client needs with platform capabilities and support accurate proposal development.

  • Translate scientific and technical requirements into clear, compelling, and commercially relevant solutions.

  • Ensure effective handover from business development to project execution, maintaining alignment on scope, expectations, timelines, and deliverables.

  • Conduct market and account analysis to understand customer needs, industry trends, competitive dynamics, and emerging opportunities.

  • Help communicate the company’s value proposition and differentiators in Structural Biology, Cryo-EM, and related discovery services.

  • Represent the company at conferences, partnering events, client meetings, and networking activities to strengthen market visibility and generate pipeline.

  • Maintain accurate records of opportunities, activities, and forecasts in the CRM system, contributing to reporting and pipeline visibility.

Travel Requirements

  • This role requires significant travel, estimated at approximately 50% of working time, depending on territory and business needs.

  • Travel will include client visits, conferences, partnering events, and internal meetings across key markets.

Your Profile

  • Bachelor’s degree in Life Sciences, Biotechnology, Biochemistry, Molecular Biology, or a related field. Advanced degree (Master’s, PhD, or MBA) preferred.

  • 5+ years of business development, sales, or account management experience within biotech, pharma, CRO, or life sciences industries

  • Strong understanding of structural biology, Cryo-EM, biologics, antibody discovery, or drug discovery workflows preferred

  • Experience selling Cryo-EM, Structural Biology, protein sciences, discovery platforms, or other advanced scientific services.

  • Strong communication, presentation, negotiation, and relationship-building skills.

  • Existing network within biotechnology and pharmaceutical organizations is considered an advantage.

  • Ability to understand scientific concepts and translate them into compelling commercial value propositions.

  • Analytical mindset with the ability to assess market information, identify opportunities, and prioritize effectively.

  • Comfortable working in a fast-paced, international, and cross-functional environment.

  • Proficiency with CRM systems (e.g. Salesforce, Monday.com) and Microsoft Office tools.

  • Fluency in English and willingness to travel extensively. Additional languages are a plus.
